I call my layered wall sculptures "constructed paintings". My materials are light-weight canvas or unbleached cotton, wire, cotton fibre batting, gesso and acrylic paint. My tools are scissors of all sizes, pliers, wire cutters, sewing machine, brushes and rollers. The wall sculptures are fixed to a hard surface such as a cradled wood panel, or, for some small works, a canvas background. The free-standing sculptures are supported by their own inner wires.

I also work a lot with my camera, capturing the effects of different lighting situations on the textiles I use.
